Attainment, Progress, Outcomes

Using Target Tracker is the most concrete way in which I show account for pupil’s progress, attainment, and outcomes.

I have begun to record children’s attainment and progress on Target Tracker. Examples of KS1 and KS2 music attainment can be found in the pictures below. This provides a general assessment of children’s musical capabilities based on the National Curriculum statements for music. I began using Target Tracker in Spring 2. For Years 1, 3, 4 and 5, I began using the new National Curriculum Statements. For Years 2 and 6, I used the old National Curriculum Levels. (Sample photos are below).

I have also accounted for children’s musical progress through the use of music exams. Over the past year, more than 2 dozen children have entered music exams, and several have shown progress by taking 2 or 3 exams of increasing difficulty. Click here for a summary of exam achievement.
